Thank you

We would like to thank our patients for their support and kind words following our update letter.

We want to reassure you that we are committed to keeping a surgery in Winchcombe and are putting a lot of time and energy into making changes to ensure the viability of the surgery with the money the government has provided.

Due to the shortfall in funding, we cannot provide the number of appointments we used to so please help us where you can and use the Pharmacy First service at the chemist for some simple acute illnesses (they can see sore throats/sinus pain/ear pain/skin infection/urine infections/shingles) as well as the NHS websites.

For simple joint and foot problems please consider self-referring to NHS physiotherapy:

And podiatry:

If they cannot help, then please phone us and we will triage your request. Please keep attending your health checks with us it is very important.

Please book well ahead for routine GP appointments by calling our reception team as usual or online via our website. Try to see one usual doctor or nurse who knows you best for continuity.

Please call us for same day/urgent problems which cannot be manged at home or through the pharmacy. If an appointment is not available, we will take details for a GP to review. When we have reached safe levels of working, we may have to direct you to nhs 111 or other services.

Many of our patients have already written to the MP and we are attaching a copy of a letter which you could choose to use if you have not written to them already. Please just add the name of your MP at the top and your own name at the bottom. This will hopefully continue to raise the very serious issue about the erosion of general practice funding.

Once again, thank you for your support

The Winchcombe Medical Team
