Winchcombe Medical Centre

Winchcombe Medical Centre is pleased to announce that we are now a research practice. We have teamed up with the Primary Care Research Network and are supporting research by the University of Oxford.

Current Studies we are participating in:

PACE: Looks at whether a simple finger prick blood test can help guide better antibiotic use in patients suffering from an acute exacerbation of the Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease (COPD)

FAST: Looks at whether increasing certain inhalers can reduce worsening of Asthma symptoms that would usually require steroids.

TASMINH4 : A blood pressure study looking at whether  home monitoring gives better blood pressure control.

CANDID: This study is aiming to find out which symptoms are most useful in helping doctors detect cancer at an early stage.

Your GP, our Research nurse Lara or Nick Puffett, (Winchcombe Medical Centre’s -  Nurse Practitioner) will discuss this with you further. By participating in this research you will be helping to shape future healthcare treatment and advice.Research Logo
